Just what is it...? interrogated the commodification of 20th-century avant-garde practices, and their reduction to interior decoration, through a curatorial strategy that mimicked the same. Existing contemporary works whose roots lie in modernism were re-presented and rearticulated in a mise en scène that was intended to be nostalgic, idyllic and foreboding in equal measure.
